Known Issues

This page lists issues with the HM script that have either yet to be resolved, or represent an issue in an older HM version that folks may still encounter from time to time.

By "issue," we mean a problem that affects HM, often a problem external to HM (such as a platform specific bug that HM triggers). Usually the only way to address such an issue is to circumvent the problem, through a workaround.

This is not a list of missing or pending features.

Resolving the Issues
Most of the listed issues have a note regarding our progress toward resolving them. In certain cases, no progress is being made. These issues are clearly marked and your assistance would be invaluable. Please feel free to submit solutions using the links provided.

• Menus covered by page components
• 508 Compliance Issues: Keyboards/Screen Readers/JavaScript Disabled Browsers Can't Access Menus
• Already Created Menus Not Dynamically Resized When Default Browser Text Size Changed
• PopUp Menus with ClickStart Cannot Be Reused Across Links

• Child Menus Don't Appear when Menu Event Hooks In Place
• HM not re-generated upon window resize if Flash embed co-exists on page
• HM Error Stops Menus when pages resized multiple times in succession
• Access Violation Crashes browser when pages loaded multiple times in succession
• Page displays square boxes or incorrect characters in place of valid characters
• JavaScript Errors/Menus do not display/Permanent menus disappear immediately upon display
• Page with display:block styling on an image will not complete loading
• Browser Slows With Continuous HM Use

Netscape 6.0x

• Variable width menus with word wrapping are forced to maximum width

Mozilla

• Menus Do Not Behave Properly When Displayed Over IFrames

Safari

• Menu Background Images Aren't Aligned Properly or Dynamically Readjust
• Variable width menus with word wrapping are forced to maximum width
• Opacity Settings incorrectly applied to child/other menus

• Navigation Page Stops Responding After Using Back Button
• Menus don't load when returning to frameset page
